Message	th offset stripe was used for european road racing, it was placed in line with the driver and a small space was left so that the driver could align the space between the stripes with the line o the road, making it so that the car was dead center on the road (as they drive on the left side) and one stripe was left thicker so that as long as the center line in the road was somewhere close to the line on the car the driver could get a relative feel for where he was on the road.
